In today's lesson we had a big peice of paper in the middle of the table, we all sat around the table with a felt tip each. Two different songs were played the first being Tina Moore - Never Gonna Let You Go (Artful Dodger Mix) we drew to the beat of the music and were told to just draw what we thought it could be anything. The result was that their was sharp edges and it was very messy and crouded. The 2nd song that was played was very slow and therefore our results were very different as this time there were curvy lines and it compared to the 1st paper it looked alot calmer

Thought through a beat (seeing what the lyrics mean in your head)
- Understanding the chorus and verses
-The main of the artist would be unique compared to other artist to give them a form of identification
- Is the artist trying to tell a story through his or her song through visuals and vocals
Relationship between the song and visuals
- Music videos often use images and shots to expalin the lyrics to their song or genre
- The meaning of the song is completly ignored in the video
The narrative and performance of the song
- Telling a story
- Is the artists performing? can you see them playing an instrument/singing
Technical aspect of a music video
- Editing
- Fast/choppy cuts; create fact pace
- Slow cuts ; slow/flowing pace
- Sound and visuals
Goodwin's Theory related to John Newman - Love Me Again
The music and the visual's of the music video creates a tone and atmosphere to the audience. This is shown through the dance routines and the artist on the stage preforming. This is also a narrative based music vidoe between a couple. The artist is shown throughout the music video as this helps to show recognisability to the audience so they know that they know that he is the singer. There are a few close-ups of John Newman's face so that the audience can see the artist of the song and recognise him. This also helps to grow the artist popularity as the audience may have never heard or seen him before and it helps them to know who sings the song and this shows them this. Some parts of the video is inb slow motion to add tension and suspense of the start of the video and just before the chorus kicks in to build up the excitement for the audience. The camera is fast pace shots and is always moving to go with the dancing.
