Filtering and Letterboxing and Logo

Once we had finished putting our sequence together the next big job was to colour grade. We liked our sequence but we needed to tweek the colouring to make sure all the scenes worked together and looked like they were apart of the same video. We found that some poder paint shots were too dull ddo used a programme called "Colour" to brighten them up. We also used it on the studio shots as they were very black and white compared to the colour shots so we used Colour to add a filter so it gave a coloured tinge to the shots. We also used Colour for all the other shots so looked the same as the ones we corrected including cantrasting and brightening, this made our film look so much more proffesional and the colours stood out so well which was what we were aiming for. Although we had never used this programme before with a little playing around and research we picked it up pretty quickly and once we got the hang of it was a very quick and easy process.

After the colour grading was complete we decided to letter box our sequence the reason for this was to give it the proffesional and finished look and also letterboxing is a convention for dance/pop music. The letterbox is the two back strips that covers the top and bottom of the screen. Just like the colour grading we had to letterbox our shots one by one so it was time consuming as after getting the right ratio we then had to go back and move the picture so the image fitted into the shot, as it ended up cutting out peoples faces. When the letter boxing was finished aswell as the colour grading our music video looked like a proffesional video that you would see on tv, we were really happy with the changes but there was one thing missing just to top it off and to complete our music video...

THE MTV DANCE LOGO was the last aspect that we had to our video, to make it loom proffesional. We used the the logo in the top left hand corner throughtout the whole video jusat like it would be on the tv. Once we had put the image into our sequence we watched it all the way through and decided that we had completed our video and we all were so happy with what we had done and what we had achieved over the last few months.
